Dubai Polo Gold Cup series 2016

Held under the patronage of HH Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Deputy Ruler of Dubai, the premier polo competition of the year will be played at the Dubai Polo Club grounds on the outskirts of Dubai from 22nd January 2016 to 15th April 2016, with the series including McLaren Cup 2016, Julius Baer Gold Cup 2016 and Dubai Cup 2016.

The event will present the world’s best polo teams and players, who battle out for the prize. The final event of the Dubai Polo Gold Cup Series will be on March-April 2016.

The Gold Cup is 18 goal handicap tournament ‘Dubai Open’, which will be played under HPA rules and each game will be 5 chuckers.

Since the year 2009, the Dubai Polo Gold Cup includes a series of two premier Polo Events in the region, involving the world’s best polo teams battling to win the title. The game perfectly combines the grace of equestrian pursuits and skill of a ball game to give thrilling results. With top-class sportsmanship and glamour, the game has already earned a reputation of being the most prestigious event on the international polo calendar, which draws high-profile crowd too.

As a visitor, you could also dine in at the VIP stands or picnic at the lush lawns or party to the beats in the tents. The official Gold Lounge provides sofa sittings, cocktail tables, bar area, and you could watch the Dubai Polo Gold Cup from here too. There is also the Picnic area on the lawn, wherein guests can bring a picnic basket of their own and enjoy watching the Dubai Polo Gold Cup from there. The fun includes entertainment at the kids’ zone, with performances and music by local and international DJs.
