Film Screening - In Exile Shorts

Reel Palestine, the independent festival which celebrates Palestinian films, is returning for the eighth year. The event will take place from January 29 to February 6 at Cinema Akil.

Visit Cinema Akil during the Reel Palestine Film Festival to catch a screening of a selection of short films whose plots revolve around being separated from your roots and learning about your origins.

The line-up includes Arabic documentaries and features like Baladna, Mariam, Stones in Hand, Son of the Streets and Barzakh along with Omar — a 21-minute Italian short directed by Luca Tairtuti and Marco Mario De Notaris.

Get a peek into the life of the lead character, who is a Palestinian exile based in Naples for over 25 years, as he tries to integrate his heritage into his present-day life by running an traditional eatery.
