Indian designer Gaurang Shah's latest collection- ‘Navrasa’ is brought to the UAE as part of Numaish fashion exhibition. The one-off trunk show - where you can try and buy on the spot - will precede the annual Indian-wear exhibition (which takes place at the end of September), on Friday, August 30 and Saturday, August 31 at Taj Dubai.
Explore contemporary and traditional designs, textiles and inspirations for jewellery and fashion at this exhibition.
Fondly called as the ‘master of weaves’, Gaurang Shah is known for his traditional Indian garments including lehengas, Anarkalis, ghararas, kurtas and sarees. A skilled textile designer, his designs are used by a number of Bollywood stars including Vidya Balan, Sonam Kapoor, Tapsee Pannu, Huma Qureshi, Kirron Kher etc.
Kishandas & Co is a Hyderabad-based jewellery house with a legacy dating back 145 years. One-time jewellers to the royal family of Hyderabad, their practice is rooted in the tradition of royal design and is known for rare and original creations. Kishandas creates regal-looking chokers, sautoirs, earrings, cocktail rings and maang-tikkas that are encrusted with iridescent uncut polki diamonds and pearls, interspersed with vibrant emeralds and rubies.
Even if you're not in the market for such an expensive piece at the moment, they sure make for a fun day of dress-up.
Designer Mira Sagar will also bring her label Vaya, known for its modern take on the traditional sari.
