The new visa rules now permit parents to sponsor their sons until they are 25, which has come as the best Ramadan gift for parents across the UAE.
In one of its biggest reforms to the country’s entry and residency visa scheme, the UAE cabinet recently announced that there is no age limit for sponsorship of unmarried daughters.
Earlier, it was a tedious process for parents, both financially and emotionally, as they were only allowed to sponsor their sons until the age of 18.
This news comes as a welcome relief for many parents, as it is always easier to travel when children have residence visas in Dubai.
The Cabinet announced a series of visa reforms ranging from a five-year Green Visa to introducing fresh categories under the 10-year Golden Visa.
The new system is more beneficial to family members, allowing expats to grant residence permits for their loved ones easily. Children with determination are also granted residence permit, irrespective of their age.
Green Residence Visa holders are allowed to issue residence permits for their first-degree relatives. However, in all cases, the residency of family members will have the same duration validity as that of the original residence holder.
