Indian nationals are not allowed to travel to the UAE on visit visas, as more clarification is necessary on the travel protocol, said Pavan Kapoor, the Indian Ambassador to the UAE.
"At this point, it is not clear whether the UAE is allowing people to come on visit visas or not. We are awaiting clarity on that. Also, the government of India is yet to decide whether to allow people to travel on visit visas," the Ambassador said.
He confirmed that airlines are not carrying passengers with visit visa at present.
Although Dubai has begun issuing visit visas to several countries, including India from 29th July. Although the travel agents and Amer centres confirmed the fact that restrictions on several nationalities have been removed, there was no official announcement made till date.
