The Department of Tourism Commerce and Marketing in Dubai has announced shutdown of all bars, pubs and lounges from Monday, 16th March, till the month-end in order to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
The statement from the Department of Tourism read “In line with Dubai Government Precautionary measures to ensure the health and safety of its residents and visitors, Dubai Tourism notifies all bars, pubs and lounges (including bars within restaurants) to close with immediate effect from 16th March 2020, till the end of March.”
However, restaurants in Dubai are allowed to remain open, according to Dubai Tourism.
The CEO of Support Services and Investment DTCM, Ahmad Khalifa Al Falasi, said that the department will continue to evaluate the situation closely, in coordination with health authorities.
