A portion of Sheikh Zayed Road will remain closed on 8th November, Friday to host the Dubai Fitness Challenge, 2019 fun run competition. Sheikh Zayed Road is a fourteen lane highway connecting Dubai, Abu Dhabi and other Emirates together. This is for the first time in the history of Dubai that a section of this important road will be used as a racing track. It will remain closed to traffic on that day.
There are two racing challenges like 5 KM and 10 Km respectively. People of all age, fitness level and abilities are free to participate in the 5 KM fun run challenge. However, the 10 KM race is only for runners above 18 years of age. The starting and ending point of both these routes is the Dubai World Trade Centre.
To participate in any of the 5 KM or 10 Km run, registration is mandatory before the start of the event for all members who are above eight and eighteen years respectively. However, children below eight-years can participate in the 5 Km fun run without any registration.
