Ghost the Musical at Dubai Opera

If you're a nineties kid, you will be excited for this news. Ghost -The Musical has announced it's coming to Dubai Opera and it's your chance to relive what is undoubtedly one of the most romantic movies of that era, in live-show format. Fresh from broadway; this is the ultimate musical that defines an era with drama, denim, tunes and romance.

The Oscar-winning musical, based on the iconic 90s film, starring Demi Moore as Molly and the late Patrick Swayze as Sam. It will be held at the Dubai Opera from Tuesday October 9 to Saturday 13, with pre-sale tickets available now.

The show, in partnership with Broadway Entertainment Group, tells the story of Sam and Molly, a young couple whose love turns tragic after Sam is murdered. Molly turns to a storefront psychic, played in the film by Whoopi Goldberg, to re-establish a connection with her lost love. Sam becomes trapped between the world of the dead and the living, but must find a way to save Molly from the dangers that await her.

Screenwriter Bruce Joel Rubin won an Oscar for his work on Ghost. He adapted his screenplay for the musical with the help of Dave Stewart and Glen Ballard. The stage show premiered in the UK in 2011, and transferred to Broadway the following year. It has been nominated for five Olivier Awards and three Tony Awards.

The one that has spawned countless reproductions, the original 'Unchained Melody' by The Righteous Brothers will be included in the Dubai Opera show.
