Hatta Hills Run 2020

It’s time to dust off those trainers and hit the great outdoors because one of the most scenic fitness events is coming to town next month.

Head to Hatta for the Hatta Hills Run- a half-marathon taking place through the emirate’s mountainous landscape and by its famous dam on Friday March 6.

If you’re ready to take on the whole challenge there is, of course, the half-marathon option, but if you’re not quite ready to take it too seriously, there are other shorter options available.

You can choose to compete in a gruelling 70km, a tough 35km, or a hard 21.1km. There is also a 70km event that’s open to teams of four.

Instead of the full whack, you can take on the 10km or 5km routes that will take you through 'tree-lined villages' all the way up to Hatta Dam and its waters (which, by the way, is one of the world’s most Instagrammed spots). There is also a fun 2.5km race for children.

Those competing in the longer format will tackle the tartan surface, and then face a steep hill before navigating their way through the mountain range and onto an off-road track.

Half Marathon runners will then branch off toward the Hatta Municipal Park and suburbia area before facing a 24% steep gradient incline as they ascend to the top of Hatta Dam for some breathtaking views of the dam and majestic Hajar Mountain Range.
