​The CBD Palm Run 2019

The Dubai Fitness Challenge may be complete for this year, but there’s no shortage of sporting events to keep the city up and active. The latest in the city's sporting episodes is the CBD Palm Run, a multi-option run sponsored by the Commercial Bank of Dubai.

Scheduled to be held on 18 January 2019, the run will take place on the iconic Palm Jumeirah, with the start and finish points outside the Atlantis The Palm Hotel. The route will allow runners to enjoy some of Dubai’s iconic landmarks like Burj Al Arab, Jumeirah Beach Hotel and the Dubai Ferris Wheel.

The Palm Run is a family fun event targeting all ages, with three categories for adults, the 10km, a 5km and 3km while kids have a 2km and 1km race. To help participants prepare for the run, the Palm Run organisers also plan to provide structured training programmes and weekly group training sessions managed by elite athletes. The 2018 Palm Run attracted more than 1,000 entries, and organisers are expecting bigger numbers for this year.

The area has various food and beverage stalls, retail outlets and race giveaways, along with medical support. Runs are largely open to all however athletes must be over the age of 18 to compete in the 10km. Every runner gets an Aquaventure wristband, which entitles them to admission on the day of the run for 150 AED per person ((each registered runner/with wristband can take 3 guests and avail the offer).

Medals are given to all those taking part and everyone will have the chance to relax in the Race Village following their event.

The race kicks off bright and early at 6am so that you can make the most of the crisp morning air and the Palm Jumeirah’s stunning sights. We recommend that you take the monorail from the base of the island where there is parking, as no cars will be allowed onto the crescent on race day.
