​XDubai Slingshot at Kite Beach

Adventure specialists XDubai could soon be running out of ideas of how to keep the nation’s thrill-seekers entertained.

First there was a zip line landing at Dubai Mall, then a longer, higher 1 kilometre route was opened at Dubai Marina.

Now the adventure sports company dealing in adrenaline has launched its first slingshot attraction at Kite Beach. The XDubai Slingshot will see thrill seekers fitted into the slingshot, and then propelled at a force up to 4 Gs, reaching speeds of up to 100 kilometres an hour in just half a second, traveling 120 metres over sand and water.

Designed for single riders, the attraction will be open to the public on Friday October 26. It will be open for a limited time only on Thursdays Friday and Saturdays from 9am to midday and 1pm to 7pm. Tickets are on a first come, first serve basis, with the option to keep your name on the waiting list for the same day. For Dhs280 per person, you’ll get to experience the new sling shot, receive a free XDubai cap, plus a Dhs50 XDubai voucher to spend at the XDubai shop or towards the cost of your ticket for the XLine Dubai Marina.

Those brave enough to give the Kite Beach Slingshot a go can video their experiences with an included GoPro head camera.

Not convinced? Rest assured all riders must meet strict safety measures, and are required to wear safety helmets throughout the experience.
