Indian Independence Day specials at Taj Dubai

It’s time to mark Indian Independence Day, and Taj Dubai is leading the way with the celebrations. On Wednesday August 15 there are two separate events at the Business Bay hotel.

Bombay Brasserie is hosting a fantastic dinner, with carefully curated selected dishes from each of the country’s regal regions – Cooch Behar in the east, Rajputana in the west, and Travancore, Hyderabad and Mysuru in the south. The special menu will run daily from Thursday August 9 until Wednesday August 15 costing Dhs295 per person. Dishes include steamed mustard jumbo prawns, king fish wrapped in a banana leaf and lamb kacchi biryani. Veggie dishes include morel biryani and charcoal smoked soya nuggets. It will all be rounded off with gram flour-ghee cake.

Meanwhile, Byzantium Lounge at Taj Dubai is celebrating with a chaat wala – an authentic Indian hors d'oeuvre trolley – so you can choose all your favourite street foods including paani poori, papdi chaat, dahi bhalla and jhaal mudi. Once you’ve had your fill, it’s time for a cup of masala chai and classic glucose biscuits, all for just Dhs99. It runs from 2pm until 6pm so you’ve got plenty of time to try it all out.
