Astrid's imagery appeals to a global audience, and her fine art works are held by private collectors the world over.
Astrid is dedicated to working with some of the world's finest and rarest horses found in some of the most interesting of cultures. She literally travelled the world to photograph every known breed of horse in their natural enviroments to illustrate the iconic book The Majesty of the Horse.
Astrid's vision is simple and clear whatever her subject. She approaches every shot with empathy, intrigue and awe.The compassion Astrid has for her subjects is evident in every image, her talents behind the lens perhaps playing second-place to the sense of intimacy and nostalgia she evokes.
The series has the kind support of Arabian horse breeder Her Highness Shaikha Hissa bint Sultan bin Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who graciously lends her Patronage to the collection. Shaikha Hissa, with her background of horses and the horse world, as well as interest and education in the arts, has become a fond supporter of Astrid's work - in particular this collection of etchings.
