Girl gamers are getting ready to take centre stage in Dubai. The highly anticipated GIRLGAMER eSports Festival World Finals will take place at Meydan Grandstand, from February 19 to 22, 2020.
The Government of Dubai Media Office (GDMO) and Meydan One will suport this world’s largest event dedicated to girl gamers. Festival organisers, Galaxy Racer eSports, has announced an exciting collaboration with MGAE, which will see the global toy giant host various fun-filled events, play areas and product activations for its hugely popular toy lines, ‘L. O. L Surprise’ (featuring B.B. Cosplay) and ‘Little Tikes’, featuring its newest line of ‘Little Baby Bum’ products, and the launch of its brand-new line of toys called ‘Na! Na! Na! Surprise.
Following the qualifying stages in Australia, South Korea, Singapore, Spain and Brazil, the competition in Dubai will bring together nine of the world’s best all-female gaming teams to compete for the prize pool of US$100,000 (Dh367,000).
Team Dignitas from the US are the undefeated back-to-back champions of the last two GirlGamer eSports Festival world finals in the game Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. They will enter as the North American representative. Other competing teams competing against them include Carnage (Australia), Copenhagen Flames (Europe) and INTZ (Brazil). Charon (South Korea), Oob (Europe), Besiktas, Innova (Brazil) and local representatives Galaxy Racer (UAE) will go head to head in League of Legends.
