Mall of the Emirates

The Mall of Emirates, located in the Al Barsha district of Dubai, is one of the largest shopping malls in the world. Unveiled in November 2005, it is one of the largest shopping malls in the world. Located at the heart of Dubai, now known as New Dubai, this shopping mall offers a range of shopping, leisure and entertainment.

The Mall of Emirates is owned by Majid Al Futtaim Group, and is sometimes referred to as The Emirates Mall. Spreading across an area of 6.5mn square feet, the mall offers more than 460 retail outlets, 14 cinemas including the only cinemas theatre in Dubai, the entertainment area and car parking facility.

Apart from owning about 520 international brands, including Gucci, Marc Jacobs, Versace, Bylgari, Ralph Lauren, Jimmy Choo, Burberry Prorsum, Yves Saint Laurent, Lacoste, Pepe, Bottega Veneta, Harvey Nichols and Debenhams and Starbucks and more. The mall also features one of the first indoor ski resorts in the Middle East, a theatre, an indoor amusement park, multiplex cinema, Kempinski hotel and the Puliman hotel.

The Mall of Emirates welcomed more than 30.8mn visitors during the calendar year of 2009, owing to the growing reputation of the mall among residents and tourists alike.

Ski Dubai

It is the first in-door ski resort in the region that offers enjoyable skiing, snowboarding, and several other winter activities. It offers everything that visitors require including the alpine ambience of Snow Park, to the interest of sports enthusiasts who keen to tear down the slopes. Ski Dubai is the unique mountain-themed attraction that offers incredible opportunity to enjoy snowing in the desert. All the snow gear, including the snowboards and the skis are offered onsite.

Magic Planet

It is the largest indoor family entertainment center in Dubai, featuring games and several international award-winning rides. Magic Planet offers a range of fun rides, including a racing simulator. Visitors will be thrilled by the XD Theatre, the first 4D theatre in the UAE. The Robo-Coaster is a 2-person thrilling ride that is unique to Middle East, else, you could chill out with friends over a game of pool. Magic Planet offers soft play, a professional child care service and several tempting restaurant options.

Cinestar Cinemas

The Cinestar’s 14-cinema complex offer the latest in comfort and technology, and visitors can enjoy the ultimate cinema experience. The new Sestadium Cinemas, exclusive to CineStar are bigger and better, with high-backed couple seats, lift-up arm rests, fully-reclining Moran leather armchairs, adjustable foot-rests, private table for each couple and a dedicated lounge.

Dubai Community Theatre & Arts Centre (DUCTAC)

DUCTAC is loved by people of all ages and cultures, particularly the art lovers. It includes a 550-seat 2-level theatre, 150-seat studio theatre, rehearsal spaces, small and large art galleries, 16 specialized classrooms and studios for activities such as sculpture, painting, and photography, a lending library, a music school and a café.

In addition to these entertainment options, the mall has all the normal amenities found in all other malls including retail stores, coffee shops, cinemas, and supermarket.

There are several bars and restaurants to enjoy a meal or catch-up with friends in between shopping. At the west-end of Dubai shopping mall, there are several fine dining establishments, adjacent to major entertainment attractions. Apart from being modern and stylish, these restaurants are much more than regular mall food courts, offering culinary delights from across the world.

The Mall of Emirates has won several accolades including the title of ‘World’s Leading New Shopping Mall’ during the year 2005 at the World Travel Awards in London. It was also awarded the Best Shopping Mall in 2008 Dubai Awards. The Mall of Emirates was also awarded with ‘World’s Best Retail Destination of the Year’ award in 2008 Retail City Awards, ‘Best Mall Award’ at Grazia Middle East Style Awards 2008, ‘Brand of the Year’ Award at Super-brands 2008, and the ‘Best Design and Innovation’ award at the ICSC International Design and Development Awards 2007.
