The Collectors Workshop is the dream of founder, Vijay Pillai. From working for his father in India to buying out the company that employed him after moving to Dubai, Max Garage, the story of TCW began long before the sign went up. The path Vijay followed and the decisions he made along the way led him to where he is today and TCW.

A lifelong fascination tinkering with cars began when Vijay was a boy, helping his father restore Army surplus vehicles in India. Over the past 30 years Vijay has successful owned and managed Max Garage Group and is one of the foremost experts in the region when it comes to all things automotive. His award-winning restorations can be found as far away as New Zealand and Germany though he also keeps some for himself, namely his beloved 1968 Porsche 912, his ‘Pagoda roof’ 280SL Mercedes-Benz and his Morgan Plus 4.

The Collectors’ Workshop, which he opened in 2018, is a place where enthusiasts can meet in a relaxed cigar-lounge style of environment while there cars can be tended to for anything from long-term storage to full, body-off Concours-level restorations.
